Game Journal March 18: The Legend of Zelda Four Swords Adventures (Refried Zelda)

Link's latest adventure takes place in Hyrule were the wind sorcerer Vatii has been set free, and Link must weild the Four Sword, which has split him into four Links!

Sound familiar? That's because it's the plot of Minish Cap, with the Four Swords part added in...

And that's the problem with this game, it's a recycled Zelda! The graphics are similar to the SNES game, yet upgraded and smoothed, yet you'll have the feeling your playing the SNES game most of the time...

It's kinda like those Gamera movies were have the movies if footage from other Gamera movies...

It's quite arcade-like, you can either play alone, or with friends, level by level, you heard me, it has LEVELS! You can only save between levels, and you lose everything when you strat the next one!

And you can also only hold one item at a time, which is fine for multiplayer since each can carry it's own item, but why in single player mode too? I guess it would have made the game too easy...

Not that it's actually a challenge, since they recycled the bosses, except one, you already know how to deal with them and now you can carry as many fairies, to heal you when you faint, as you want! I had about 30 when I finished the game...

The gameplay is simply, gather force gems to power up your sword so you can break the seal that is preventing you from entering the next level...

Most levels are just hacking and slashing, but something you have to explore, use the Link formations right and near the end it gets kinda interesting...

This game might be loads of fun if you are playing with friends, but it's not that fun alone, and it has no replay value, not the other Zelda games have any replayability either...

I'm not sure what to say, I should shun Nintendo for simply meshing up bits from other games to make this, yet it's still enjoyable and I still had fun...
