It's been a long time since I played a modern game and reviewed it...

Ok, it's been a week, but it feels like a month!

Fable is Peter Molyneux's first RPG, and like most of his games, he overhyped it a little...

It's your typical story of an un-named boy whose family and town was destroyed by bandits, and enter a Hero Guild to get revenge...

The main feature of this game is the good and evil choices you can makes in this game, if you are on the side of good and justice, you will eventually get a halo and butterflies will flutter above you, and if you are evil you will grow horns and mosquitos will be your only friends...

You also have an attractiveness and scariness bar in the game, this is only changed by your appearence obviously. Depending on what you wear, what kind of tattos, if any, you have and your haircut, people will either like you or be afriad of you...

You can also seduce and even marry in this game, which is easier with high fame and attractiveness. When I was near the end, people fell in love with me by simplying waving hello!

Notice I said people and not women, you can seduce and marry men too, and even have sex (it's just a black screen with moans and giggles) with your husband or wife...

Basically the game consists of taking missions the Hero Guild gives you and sometimes find your own missions, sometimes you will have to choose between taking a evil or good mission, you can also boast about wether you think you can beat the mission without getting hurt or similar boast by making a wager, and at the end of the mission you'll get a trophie which you can show off to gain even more fame!

The whole fame and good and evil thing seems to work, but not perfectly, once you get minimally famous you won't notice any difference once you get even more famous. Also it's seems once you become good enough it's near impossible to become evil...

When I was near the end, I did the evil missions and after slaughtering the innocent, I still had my halo and my good bar was still full!

I do believe it was due to the fact that I donsted a insanely large of money to the Churh of Avo, which gave me an insanely high boost in "goodness"! But that is not the only thing that bugged me...

They told me that being evil had it's consequences in this game, yet I never saw any evidence of this during my playing...

I was forced to "borrow" things and I sometimes got caught, and they called the guard on me, if I payed the fine they just forgot about it and if I fled and returned later, they forgot it as well!

Geez! I nearly had to kill a guard while escaping and I think that one of my rogue spells killed a civilian and yet THEY FORGAVE ME!

Most people complain about this game is that it is very short, which mostly true, but it's still decently long for an action RPG, and it does include the Lost Chapter expansion...

But the expansion itself was extremely short, it was just a long mission in a new land...

The graphics are quite beautiful, it even has HDR in it, and with my new graphic card I could take full advantage of it!

The shadows did look weird though...

One final thing I should say to wrap this up is that I enjoyed the humour they included in this game, a dash of humour always makesa good game better! :D
