Game journal Feb 08: Mummy: Tomb of the Pharoah

This game is from the same people who brought us Frankenstein: Through the eyes of the monster, and is just like the previous game except based on the Mummy's story...

You are Michael Cameron, you work for a mining company and you must find out what is wrong with one of the companie's mine in Egypt, concidentally your old girlfried Lorrie is there and is trying to find out if the miners have found an ancient tomb...

Like the Frankenstein game this game has an actual Hollywood star playing a role in the game, Malcom Mc Dowell plays Davenport the big kahuna of this mining facility...

One of the thing that surprised me is the lack on monumental mazes, you see in the Frankenstein game you couldn't take two steps without finding a maze, while in this game you don't actually have ANY mazes at all! Which is very odd, because you kinda expect a maze in an ancient egyptian tomb, right?

The story and acting is better, but not much, because oddly enough, the game also LACKS a mummy in it! Ok, there is a mummy in it, but not a real one...

And frankly the only take the whole Imhotep, called Simhotep here for some reason, bringing her loved one back from the dead in the last moment almost like the forgot it or something...

Puzzle-wise most of it is pretty straigh-foward, except for some timed sequences where you can get lost in the mines...

In this game you can die much more often, but you don't die in some occassion when you should, I mean, COME ON! I got bit by a cobra and NOTHING happens?

While this game is much MUCH better than the Frankenstein one, I feel it could have been much better...
