Game journal Jan 14: Shannara and Companions of Xanth

Since I beat both of these games in the same day I'll make a small review of both...

First I talk about Companions of Xanth, you are a "mundane" human who has been chosen to represent a "devil" is his dispute with another devil, you begin at your own home, when you'll soon find out that your girlfiend has dumped you...

A friend, which you don't recall having, dares you to play a videogame, which transports you to the magical world of Xanth, in which you don't believe in the beginning, and therefore a mere computer screen for some reason...

You soon learn that this game is almost completely PUN driven, everything is either a pun, play on words or spoonerism, and if you love this kind of stuff you'll love this game!

A good example is one of the first characters you meet, call Fairy E. Nuff, who is a fairy, that works in a fair and he is fair... enough...

If anything sounds like another word than it probably has the same properties...

I loved this game from the start to end!

Shannara was made by the same company and is very similar, yet more epic and dramatic, you the son of the hero who killed an evil wizard 20 years ago who just returned from the dead...

Yeah, I know, it's cliche...

You have to travel the world and you'll need friends from all the races, elves, dwarves, trolls and gnomes to be victorious in your journey...

There are actual fights in the game, but you can always try to run aways unless it's a scripted battle...

The games is quite linear, you may travel all around a vast world, but you must travel with a certain order...

Although the game is good, it was a bit too "epic", and even though it was just about as long as the previous game, it felt like it was an eternity specially since there are many non-inteactive scenes...
