A day off? Not really...

Previous Entry A day off? Not really... Dec. 6th, 2005 @ 08:27 pm Next Entry
It's a holiday today, so instead of getting up at 5:30 at going to work, we woke up at 7:00 and cleaned the store and put the Xmas decorations there...

When I got home, at 11:00, I found about this nifty cloud game, which is free and well about clouds...

It's about a kid who is sick and can't leave his room so he dreams about clouds all day, in his dreams the clouds are his only friends and obey him, it's just a small project from the University of Southern California School of Cinema and Television, where you can control the could to make a big cloud, a draw with clouds in the sky, there are also "bad" clouds (pollution?) that you can "fight" by touching them with a "good" cloud, which produces rain...

It's pretty, it's relaxing, and it's worth a look...

I've been playing Lost in Blue in "Girl Mode" which I just unlocked yesterday...

It's feels quite sexist I must say... In "Boy Mode" you must scavange, forage and hunt to survive on the island you shipwrecked on, but when you play the girl...

You cook...

That's what you'll be doing nearly all the game, feeding the "hunter" and obeying his every whim...

You must make baskets and rope for him, keep the fire lit and feed the goat he'll eventually trap...

You can also do a little foraging yourself, you can barely leave the cave, you see...

The girl broke her glasses and hurt her leg, so SURELY she isn't up to go out hunting and and that right?

But, then how can she cook and make ropes if she's blind as bat? Is being nearsighted a really good excuse for her to stay in the cave? Or are they just telling this us this so we can't accuse them of beign sexist?

In other news, I just ordered the first present for Xmas!
