This is kinda weird...
While deboning a large piece of meat the knife started to bend!
These aren't like your normal knives, buthcer knives are very robust!
I tried to bend it back into shape and it.... SNAPPED!
I stared with utter disbelief...
I broke a knife with MY noodle arms?
In other news someone is willing to buy my VHS anime collection! YES!
(What on Earth does "OH SNAP!" mean now anyway?) :P
"Oh, snap!" is an exclamation of alarm and disappointment. It's pulled from the comedic movie "Zoolander" staring Ben Stiller. It has the same meanings as "Oh, crap!" or "Oh, shoot!" or anything along those lines. :) Help at all?
And go-go Tanuki arms! Was the knife really old or what?
Then I guess "Oh snap!" was a good choice of words... :P
Come to think of it, I think that was probably the oldest in the shop!
Hmm, Tanuki udon.... :P
Stronger than you know. :D It's Super Tanuki!
If that knife broke. I can easily say it was over 50 years old. Must've been very thin too with all the sharpening made on it.
and wow. Tanuki is trong !!
* hides *
I am Tanukitsune! Breaker of very old and fragile things! :P
wow, i'm sure glad you're okay! (last time i broke a knife, i got a nice divot in my glasses from a flying fragment of blade. i felt both very stupid for abusing it so that it broke and for not wearing *real* eye protection, and very thankful that my glasses did save me from a spike of metal in my eyeball.)
and i'm happy that my current glasses have finished being repaired, so i'm not wearing chippy the spare anymore.
I was lucky, the piece of metal stayed in the meat...
A flying fragment to the eye? Oh why did I have eye laser surgery!
I can't even shoot lasers with them! :P
Total gyp there. You should ask to get your money back. ;)
Wow, Azalea, I'd never even considered bits of flying metal. I obviously don't work much with knives. Safer for everyone all around that way, really . . . .
I've been hit by bits of flying bone and it does kinda sting... :P
:) Oookay, even knowing where you work, that sounds really strange. Taken completely from context, that makes a great quote. In a strange, twisted, slightly evil sort of way.
Ever worked with a sewing machine? I've had quite a few needles break (or pins if i'm being lazy), and had those go flying, too. (Not so hard as to chip plastic lenses, but enough to bounce off and startle me.)
