Battling the Backlog Week 8: Fail n' Fumble, 'Splosions, "Trine" my best and Indie Adventures!

The week started pretty weak...

A few of the game I tried kept crashing, like Hellboy: Asylum Seeker, but that game looked pretty mediocre, so I didn't care...

Others, like MDK, I realized I had already beaten them before...

The first game I actually played an beat last week was Gungage, which I can only describe and an third person shooter, I must have bought when I was a total Konami fanboy, because, while I don't have anything bad to say about, I don't have much to say about it at all.. You run around, you shoot things... that's it..

And then 'SPLOSION MAN! I game I enjoyed so much.. that I already made a post about so... go read that post if you want to know how much I enjoyed that game! XD

And then I play Trine... which is like The Lost Viking only prettier, less frustrating and more fun, you can play as the Wizard who creates platforms, a thief who has a bow and a grappling hook, and the knight who is the guy who hits stuff!

But.... Something happened while I played the game... Apparently my keyboard volume key did something to the game.. and it gave me every skill up to level 2 and every item... Which seemed great when it happened in the first levels, but annoying in the final ones...

I found a few bugs that really annoyed me... I can't help but to think I would have enjoyed the game more if these bugs were gone...

Also, the final level is WAY TOO hard!  Way too hard compared to the other levels... Some say that the Meat Circus level was too hard compared to the rest of the game? That's a cake walk compared to final level in Trine!

And then I realized.. that I had done it! My backlog was under 100 finally!

OK... I didn't add the latest iPhone games I got on sale, and I keep forgetting to add the indie games (specially the free ones), but... I did it dammit! I made the rules so I say I did it! XD

So... I played some indie adventures!

Time Gentleman, Please is the sequel of Ben There, Dan That! and it follows the adventures of Ben and Dan who in their first adventure get kidnapped by their evil future version of themselves and try to take over the world, in the end, they ruled the world... and messed it up pretty badly...

They travel back in time to prevent this all from happening only to come back to... Hitler with cyborg dinosaurs clones? Yes, this game is pretty wacky....

I don't want to spoil the game too much, but you get to play another adventure game while in the game, where Hitler is the main character... who has the "Invade" command!

Blackwell Unbound is the sequel to The Blackwell Legacy and stars Lauren Blackwell a medium and Joey Mallone, her spirit guide. Their purpose in life is to help wandering spirits find peace, and.... I can't really talk about the plot... Saying anything more would spoil and I found the story very compelling and I loved uncovering the mystery by my own...

I'll just say that it's mostly about investigation, finding out who the ghost is, finding a way to convince the ghost is dead, etc, etc.. And it's about cooperation, Joey might be just a ghost, but he can get into places Lauren can't although he can't really interact with anything...

The only other thing I can say without spoiling this awesome game is that unlike the other Wadjet Eye Games, which have bloopers when you beat the game, in this one you have to earn them by take photos of specific things, which isnt' too hard to figure out....

The latest Blackwell game, The Blackwell Convergence takes us to the present with Rosangela Blackwell, Luaren's niece who
"inherited" Joey and is now in charge of dealing with wandering spirits like her auntie did...

The gameplay is the same as the previous game except Rosangela has the internet to do her research, which makes things easier for her.

Once again, I don't want to spoil the game for you, but I will say that I'm really glad I played the previous game right before this one, which should give you a hint...

I also say that this game got me quite interested in New York, where the game takes place, I know that the areas you visit tend to be real, but in this game I found out that some of the people you meet are real!

The Path was... disturbing.... it's one of those games that's so open to interpretation that everybody will have a different theory on what is going one, but it seems we all agree on that it's based on the Little Red Riding Hood tale... and that it's messed up... You get to choose one of six girls, who has to visit her grandma...

But if you just go to her house, you "fail". Apparently you must encounter the wolf, who can be an actual wolf, a person, or... something else... And the wolf doesn't something horrible to the girl...

You don't really get to see it, but I'm sure at least ONE of them got raped...

Since I reached my quota I'm now going to play whatever I bloody want so I started to play Saints Row 2!

The very first non story mission I found was... about spraying fecal matter on houses... and people...

And then I mugged a guy in a hot dog suit... I think I love this game! <3

I'll talk about it more next week, I only played it for a few hours.

I think I might play Saints Row 2 this week, or maybe something else? I dunno...
