Battling the Backlog Week 6: Monkeying around and Sega Saturn!

I wonder be posting what I play each day since I'll be reaching games that take more than a day to beat.

Last week was the launch of the new Monkey Island game and basically spend the day it came out waiting... and waiting... I guess it came out that day in America, but not in Spain!

I did play a bit while I waited though...

Hero of Sparta:
It's God Of War for the iPhone, as good as an iPhone game can be. The only thing that bothered me was the bosses, or the lack of them, the first one was kinda a puzzle, the next one is nearly at the end and is too easy, but the final one... well he wasn't hard, because you get armor that heals you by then and you can simply run around until healed, but you have to run around until you heal...

And.... I had give up on some games...
N+: That was a waste of money.... Yeah, it's a good game... until it becomes impossible! I looked at my firends list, nobody made it not even halfway through the game!

Abigale: Who makes a bullet hell game that you control with the accelerometer? A normal shmup might be doable, but  a bullet hell game? Seriously?

Kroll: Don't you hate it when you hit a wall of difficulty? Kroll is simple brawler... A too simple brawler, which is not a good thing if your enemies have a better move set than you! All you do is walk left or right, hit light and fast, or slow and hard...
By hitting the quick attack you can dispatch the enemies that appraoch you from both sides, but that doesn't work for the final boss, he keeps guarding and then hits you very hard and you can't do anything but pray he'll die before you do, but he doesn't... he keeps blocking only stopping to hit you and hitting him doesn't stop his attack which works on every other enemy...

The Monkey Island game came out the next day, but I had to go to the mall... An despite the fact that I didn't want to buy any games.. I did...
I've been looking for Persona 4 for ages, and they had a copy... I HAD TO BUY IT!
They also had Rhythm Paradise, which was a waste of money because I'm the worst at rhythm games...

Tales Of Monkey Island: Lauch of the Screaming Narwhal:
It's a Monkey Island game from Telltale! It rocks! It's definetly the best game Telltale has made yet!  I'm pretty sure everybody has talked to death about this game, so I'll just say that it felt like a proper Monkey Island game and a proper Telltale game too... And Chuck the Plant makes a cameo!

Plants VS. Zombies:
I haven't played a game this hilariously awesome since... Tales of Monkey Island? XD
It has zombie dolphins.... Need I say more?

And then I decided to play the few Sega Saturn games I had!

Mass Destruction:
The name is appropriate, since it's a game where you drive a tank and destroy everything in your path! I've never played a game like this but it was a blast! I Jungle Strike or Cannon Fodder are anything like this I'm so playing them!

I played a bit more only to find out next day that the Sega Saturn memory lasts only as long as the battery... So all the progress I made was lost... HUZZAH?!

Bug Too:
It's one of those plataform games where the characters are in "Movie world/ sets". You've probably played a game like this before unless you're too young to care for plataformers...
I'm glad I chose the Disco afro bug, the main character seems... annoying? But most talking mascots from that era were...
Oddly enough this "movie set" game doesn't do the typical levels and has a circus level, a water world level and... an acid trip level? It did have the obligatory horror movie level though!

Clockwork Knight:
It felt like I was playing Toy Story, but I liked it though! It was short but challenging....

Dragonheart: Fire & Steel:
Why did I buy a game based on a movie I've never seen? While I didn't really hate it that much, I could imagine myself hearing the Angry Video Game Nerd hazing this game...
You basically run around fighting and killing dragons at the end of each stage. It's not that hard but... at the same time it IS! The moment I reached an area with mages I got my butt kicked by them since they kept throwing spells that I couldn't block, but if I hit them before the cast a spell, they don't have time to do anything.... Which is why you have to fight several at the same time later...

You are FORCED to go to previous levels to farm for lives something you should need to do, but the unfairness of the game forces me to...

That's about it... I found a bunch of iPhone games for sale, so my backlog increased, but I'm "on schedule"...
