I'm sick of tired of this!

I really hate it when someone I've never heard of, just pops up in a chat program or pesters me in priavte messageing in a forum, JUST to ask me if I would give him a copy of one of my games...

It's happened way too many times, maybe I mention I have and old rare game in a gaming forum, or maybe they just visit my online collection list, and then they just come up and ask my to make a "back up" and give it to them...

I AM a collector, and I don't condone piracy, even though I have option but to ignore it since everybody I know downloads games illegally, even though some people try to hide it, I usually CAN tell when someone downloads games instead of buying them...

I spent a lot of time and possibly a lot of money on most of my old and rare games, do you I think I'm just going to give a copy? To a STRANGER?

I know that saying this won't help since the people who do this don't know me, or care at all, I just had to get it off my chest...

Don't ask me about abandonware sites either...

Too many people take the term lightly and take advantage of it...

A games is only legal abandonware when it has been completely abandoned, hence the name, by the company, if the company still sells it, even though it's 15 years old, or if they still give tech support for it, they have NOT abandoned it!

Also if a company is dead, and nobody holds the rights for the games, it IS legal, although I'd look for it on Ebay first...

Too many confuse abandonware with freeware, if a company releases one of it's old games for free, it's not abandoned! It's on their site for God's sake! It's FREEWARE! It's also freeware, when an old game is the site of the original programmer...

I really hate it when and old school game forum is filled with people who keep asking:

-"Is this game abandonware yet? I think it should! Link, please? K luv, bubye!"

The again, this suits me fine, the more people who download old games instead of buying them the less people will try to outbid me on a old game in an Ebay auction...

It's pretty damned rude for people to just proposition you for pirating like that though. I didn't know you collected.. that is pretty cool!

Maybe she missed that one. *wink* I don't priate (athough I used to when I was young and broke) because I want to reward the makers of good games by telling them with my dollars that, hey, do that some more. You know what I mean?

I mean I actually dontate to shareware writers when I find a peice of software that works and I need the tool. I used to be a writer of shareware, so I know.

Most shareware game companies I know have their old stuff still for say, and actually the last person who asked me about a game knew this but didn't what to spend money on "mediocre" shareware game...

I admit I did pirate when I was a little kid, because back then I didn't even know what it was and that it was wrong...

It was way before I had a PC, a guys at school once sold me a tons of pirated Amiga games, and a friend once gave me some Amstrad games...

I remember that back then gaming magazines told you not to buy those 100 in 1 NES cart, not because it was illegal, but because the games were usually incomplete...
