For Pete's sake!

Do you guys really think they'll simply shut down WITHOUT warning? Has a company EVER closed shop after a big layoff? I think not!
Stop panicking, guys and gals! If LiveJournal ever dies they WILL warn us before doing it!
Lots of companies shut down without warning. Laying off, like, half the staff is not a good sign. That's what happened with Tokyopop and look at how well they're doing. :/
But Toykopop isn't a service provider, LJ provides a service for which some people actually pay for, I don't remember the Terms of Service, but shutting down without warning sounds almost illegal! Or at least highly immoral...
I don't really
expect them to shut down. But it's scary. I've been here for ten years.
I don't think LJ is going anywhere.. but the wide-spread panic that seems to be happening is scaring a lot of people into doubting their own reason. >_>;;
LJ really doesn't need a whole lot of people to run it - it's run on a whole lot less in the 8 years I've been on this thing.
The panic does seems to be spreading like crazy... ^_^;
People are telling everybody to visit their twitter, Blogger or Facebook in case LJ dies...
I think you are right, there's no reason for outright panic. Backing up your entries, maybe.
I have most of my entries on DA, so I don't need to backup... unless it's the con reports...
