Yummy things in NYC I should try?

About

Previous Entry Yummy things in NYC I should try? May. 27th, 2008 @ 09:15 pm Next Entry
I should be in New York City next week for MoCCA, and I would appreciate if anybody could tell me yummy things I can eat while I'm there!

I'll be in the Manhattan area, and I probably won't leave it, so take that in mind before suggesting!

Frankly, I've never even had a bagel, so I assume anything or place you suggest will be new to me! Hot dog vendors, pastry shops, pizza parlors, and sammiches... Hmmm, sammiches! X3

PS: How badly will they hurt me if I enter a burger parlor while in US and say "I can has cheezburger?" XP

If there's a Sprinkles cupcakes place nearby (and I think there is) you should check it out -- they're awesome. :)

Do they sell ice cream too? There are a few places called sprinkles in NYC, but the main site says it's "coming soon"?

Hrm. Yeah, according to the site, the NY location is coming soon... http://www.sprinklescupcakes.com/

Hmm. Let me ask one of my friends who lived in NY where the cupcake place is that she said was phenomenal. I'll get back to you. :)

Hot dogs! Hot dogs are delicious! If you go to the metropolitan museum they've got delicious hotdogs in their hotdog stands.

A bit pricey, but still delicious.

And I'm pretty sure they'll be like '...okay w/e.' and give you a cheeseburger. XD

How much is pricey? 10 dollars?

I know New York is an expensive city, but I hear I can find cheap good food too! :3

gotta get yourself a slice of new york pizza - its like the law or something when you come here [I just had a cheese slice yummmy, very filling and only $2]. Rice to riches is near the puck building where MoCCA is on [you need to like rice pudding to eat there cus thats all they do] Theres a few nice diners worth checking like Vaselkas [spelled totally wrong] and round the clock.

Apparently midtown Manhattan more eateries than I'll even need! I'm pretty close to Little Italy Pizza and other tasty places! :3

PS: Do you have any news on comic shop thing on Friday? And do you know anything about the special event for MoCCA atendees that night? ^^;

Theres a bunch of stuff on the friday night - Jason is doing a signing out at Rocket ship and art spiegelman, gary panter, hope larson and bunch of others are doing a talk at NYU so I'm divided over which I want to go to - could always hit the start of one and end of the other.

I don't plan very far ahead honey, Mal is coming Thursday evening and I was just going to play everything by ear. I can give you my Cell number to get in touch.

Hmm, isn't there some sort of get together like what you did for the UK thing?

I arrive on Wednesday evening and I have no idea what I'm doing Thursday! I'm about 20 minutes away from great eateries, game stores and even a cinema, but I have no idea what I'll be doing yet! XD

usually theres a breif thing at the MoCCA gallery were exhibitors can pick up their badges on the friday night. As far as I know the bigger get together will be Saturday night. We usually get food at the scary indian place then meet people at pub.

I'll email you my cell number - I'll be printing all day thursday then going to met mal at airport then most likely heading for food/drinks.

EDIT: I'll just email you mine number too, OK?

If you go to an american burger place, you're pretty much guaranteed death no matter what you say.

As long as it's mcdonalds, that is...

I was going to toss out Rice to Riches too.

I think I'm going to make a point of bringing my girl there if circumstances don't prevent her coming on Sunday.

It's really an experience...

You have my # right? Or have you set yourself to hang with specific Indie comics folks?

I'm currently free Saturday to hang.

Aw man! I thought I replied to this one! Sorry about that! ^_^;

I just found out that midtown Manhattan more eateries that you can shake a cat at! WOW! I don't have enough appetite to eat all I want to! D:

No, I don't have your number, I know I should be hanging out with some friends on Friday and isn't there some event on Friday night for MoCCA attendees? I'm not sure they'll let me come in though...

I have no idea what I'll be doing Saturday apart from MoCCA that is, I assume I'll make a trip in the morning, have lunch and return?

As of this moment, I'm still making plans...
